Farmers in several parts of Alappuzha district continue to face problems from wild boars entering agricultural fields and damaging crops. The animals have increasingly been reported even in areas without nearby forests, causing concern among farmers who cultivate vegetables, banana, tubers and other crops.
Local bodies have been using measures such as solar fencing and authorised culling by designated shooters to control the problem. However, farmers say the damage remains serious in some areas, and authorities have been urged to strengthen preventive measures and provide faster support to affected cultivators.
